Job Description

As an EO within the Resourcing Team, your duties will vary but will generally involve providing continued support with the day to day running of multiple resourcing interventions from advert through to on-boarding.

Some of these resourcing interventions will be supporting the recruitment activity in Core Defra and some will support recruitment activity in the wider Defra Group together with their Arm's Length Bodies, including the Environment Agency, Natural England, the Animal and Plant Health Agency and the Rural Payments Agency.

You will be adaptive, flexible, and comfortable working at pace.

Key responsibilities of these roles will include:
o Contributing to the smooth running of campaigns by issuing sift packs and sending accurate interview packs to panels;
o Responsibility for the smooth running of the on-boarding process including oversight of the pre-employment process, liaising with Line Managers to agree start dates for candidates, and identifying issues and flagging to the Team Lead;
o Extracting information from online recruitment systems (Oleeo/VX);
o Co-managing relevant mailboxes, and responding to queries within appropriate timescales.

No day in the team is the same, which makes it an exciting, stretching and flexible place to work. This means we are looking for versatile, flexible and collaborative individuals who are adaptive and comfortable working at pace.

You do not need specific Human Resources or recruitment experience - what we are looking for are resilient, focused and adaptable individuals who are organised and efficient with their approach to tackling problems. We are looking for good team players who are able to balance a varied workload and deal with demands from multiple stakeholders effectively. You will need to be able to deal with a degree of ambiguity but have the confidence to challenge processes and responses where appropriate.

Skills required

o Team working / collaboration; it is key to the running of the team that EO Support Officers work together, cover for each other's absences, and can answer queries on each other's caseloads if necessary.
o Communication / relationship building; this role involves engagement across a wide range of vacancy holders and business areas, and a large part of your role will involve communicating to vacancy holders, HR Business Partners, other parts of the Recruitment Team, GRS, and others.
o Organisation skills; you will be working on multiple different activities at the same time, and you will need to track those activities and responses and input from others.

Technical Skills
o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
