This role is to work within an established public sector organisation based at Newcastle Business Park. This is an involved Executive Officer role working on the European Grants Team who are responsible for administering applications for grant funding to payment. If successful, your responsibilities will include:
-Checking through the business cases and applications that are received to ensure they meet the rules and regulations required, then recommending them for approval.
-Assessing project applications against a set of European Commission Regulations to determine eligibility.
-Review supporting documentation to ensure customer facing guidance has been adhered to.
-Create a sound and well reasoned assessment document to recommend approval/rejection of projects in line with output indicators.
-Comparing applications against checklist.
-Contacting customers via telephone to talk through their applications and the process.
-Dealing with queries and resolving issues from applicants on existing and potential applications via telephone, email and letters.
-General admin duties such as; filing, photocopying, scanning and records maintenance.
-Maintaining and updating an online grant system as well as multiple Excel spreadsheets.
-Using online system to monitor applications and push through cases.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
-Strong IT and communication skills
-Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
-Strong telephone manner and a flexible attitude
This is a full time, temporary position initially for 3 months with scope to be extended.
