Job Description

Job Title: Executive Officer

Rate of Pay: £12.95ph

Location: Lancaster House, Newcastle

Start Date: ASAP

Assignment Length: 3 Months, with the possibility to be extended

Shifts: Hybrid Working

Hours: 9am-5pm

My client at Marine Management Organisation is looking for an experienced Executive Office to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a fantastic government sector industry. Your role will be to support the installation of inshore Vessel Monitoring System (IVMS) devices to all under 12 meters fishing vessels in England.

Day to day duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting fishing vessel owners by responding to queries, concerns, guidance, and comms regarding rollout process. This includes via email, telephone, letter and occasionally face to face.
  • Support the fishing industry by directing them to guidance on website or highlighting relevant comms on technical information.
  • Manage, respond to and record queries via a centralised mailbox and customer support line within set KPIs.
  • Work proactively to build relationship with fishing vessel owners and share best practice.
  • Feed into a weekly update for senior managers.
  • Record information and feedback to inform compliance reporting and monitoring processes. Also, to aid the Compliance team to produce required procedures and policies.
  • Contribute to and collate feedback from fishing industry and share with internal teams as required.

Ideal Experience/Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Strong IT skills - Experienced in using Microsoft packages
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and control workload and deliver results to agreed timescales
  • Using initiative
  • Ability to interpret rules/regulations and apply them to a range of practical situations
  • A good team worker
