Job Description
My Government client is looking for a Team Leader to join them in a busy court working in Manchester City Centre.
Key responsibilities:
-Lead the implementation of efficient and consistent administrative practices, procedures & standards, identifying & implementing solutions to identified problems.
-Manage resources (including staff and facilities) to ensure excellent customer service to all stakeholders, judiciary & management.
-Conduct ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.
-To provide written and verbal advice to queries from staff and HMCTS users.
-Provide statistical data for headquarters, the senior management team and judiciary.
-Ensure Governance and Assurance around the safe and secure receipt, of personal data.
-Act as Regional Point of Contact for Business Continuity, supporting the Regional BC Plan and -liaising with Cluster Managers to monitor local arrangements.
-Act as the Regional KILO, managing FOI and DPA requests collating the necessary information to respond, taking into account the legislative requirements
-Support the management of data security incidents and data losses across the Region ensuring lessons learnt are effectively communicated.
-Provide effective day to day liaison with the judiciary and operations across the Region including advising on any changes to sitting patterns to improve performance.
-Act as single point of contact for internal and external customers on judicial resource/sitting day information/enquiries for a Cluster.
-Manage the process for handling judicial travel and subsistence claims etc, liaising with appropriate colleagues across HMCTS.
-Oversee booking of all part-time judiciary and monitor fee payments & reconciliation.
-Assist the Judicial Liaison Manager with the production of briefing documentation and other papers
-Apply LEAN principles, tools and techniques to working practices to improve efficiency of operations.
-Lead a team of staff ensuring that its members are organised, and fully skilled to meet their work objectives. Effectively managing both team and individual performance, in line with HR policy.
-Ensure that performance management and reward & recognition systems are utilised effectively throughout area of responsibility, ensuring consistent standards through benchmarking, and encouraging and rewarding good ideas and creativity.
-Plan, co-ordinate and organise training and development for staff. Ensuring that learning & development needs of all staff, including inductees, are identified and met.
-Identify staff potential and develop in line with business and individual needs.
-Be responsible for health and safety issues for the team and their immediate working environment.
-Take a lead in employee engagement activities to maintain good working relationships with staff and to improve service delivery and staff morale / motivation.
-Ensure staff are aware of HMCTS strategic objectives/and or updated in relation to corporate messages.
-Role model HMCTS values, and apply policies and procedures (including diversity, attendance and discipline).
-All Band D staff are expected to perform other management roles in addition to their own role.
-Effectively communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders including court and tribunal staff, Judiciary, court and tribunal end users on all resource issues to highlight potential challenges.
-Work with the Presiding and/or Family Division Liaison Judge or their representatives.
-Deal professionally with a range of internal and external customers, suppliers, contractors and external service providers
-Think beyond own area of responsibility, considering wider policy and organisational implications of issues.
The successful candidate will have previous team leader experience and will be a strong communicator. You will also be required to undergo a Basic DBS check and provide three years worth of references.
