Job Description

My government client is looking for an experienced HEO to join their busy team working in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting effective planning and scheduling of work and priorities, ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and within deadlines. This might include organising and scheduling of appointments, preparation and research for meetings, creation of agendas and minute taking.

Managing and engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Making sure that stakeholders are kept informed of developments in the delivery of GSCPP services.

Liaison with key stakeholders, including National Technical Authorities such as CPNI.

Work with the GSC Physical and People teams to continue to develop and deliver physical and people security services for delivery across Government.

Managing departmental delivery targets and monitoring progress with direct engagement with the security advisers and stakeholders.

Monitoring team spend and contributing to the compilation of budgets. Procuring supplies and services related to team expenditure within Delegated Financial Authority limits.

Identifying issues in advance and escalating to appropriate management levels.

Contribute ideas and potential solutions to challenges arising across GSCPP, lead engagement and support the facilitation of meetings and workshops as needed to progress the delivery of services.

To support GSCPP advisers in the production of written reports to ensure consistency is applied.

The idea candidate will:
Highly organised with ability to multi-task to tight deadlines.

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with individuals at various seniority levels.

Strong oral and written (drafting) communication skills

Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritise workload and deal with competing priorities

Previous experience of physical and/or people security and delivery to challenging timescales.

An understanding of Government physical and people security standards, policies and procedures and experience of working in a security role in Government

Experience of supporting the development and delivery of operational security services at pace
