Job Description

Our Public Sector client based in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis. The rate of pay is £8.13 an hour, rising to £15.83 an hour after a period of 12 weeks. Holiday entitlement and pension scheme available.

Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, the post holder will provide high-level executive support to one of the eight Regional Directors. Working closely with the Regional Director, the Executive Personal Assistant will manage the interface between the Regional Director, internal colleagues and external stakeholders. The post holder will support the Regional Director across their range of responsibilities, ensuring the Regional Director has the information and advice they need, whilst providing excellent customer service.

The role will include but will not be restricted to;


To be accountable for the effective delivery of support from the region, working with other internal teams and regions ensuring an efficient and quality service to stakeholders.

To act as an initial point of contact for the Regional Director, liaising and dealing effectively with senior external and internal stakeholders, to accurately and appropriately screen, log and prioritise queries through the efficient management of high-level incoming/outgoing correspondence, calls and emails.

Work closely with the wider Regional Support team to maintain an overview of all key issues requiring the Regional Director's attention, prioritising and flagging work that comes into the office and liaising with colleagues to resolve issues as they arise.

Deal with correspondence on behalf of the Regional Director, liaising with colleagues as necessary.

Ensure the effective organisation of meetings for the senior regional management team including setting up suitable dates, room bookings, forward planning agendas, coordinating and circulating papers, minute taking, following up actions, keeping updated action logs, as required and the regular reporting of management information.

To manage and coordinate diaries to ensure the most effective use of time, ensuring the associated travel arrangements, hotel bookings and conference arrangements are made well in advance.

Identifying briefing requirements in advance of meetings and engagements, working closely with colleagues to ensure these are produced within the required timescales.

Undertake specific projects and research and analysis on behalf of the Regional Director and wider regional management team, including presenting findings in papers, reports and PowerPoint presentations.

Support the effective delivery of regional events such as conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings.



The ideal candidate will possess strong IT skills with excellent verbal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to proactively plan and prioritise work effectively ensuring objectives, targets and deadlines are met.

This role may require occasional evening or weekend working. This role may require travel and overnight stays dependent on business needs.

The client have identified this role as one which will require a standard criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This role may not bring you into direct contact with children or vulnerable adults, however it may give you access to material or sensitive information about children or vulnerable adults in the future.


The rate of pay is £8.13 an hour, rising to £15.83 an hour after a period of 12 weeks. Holiday entitlement and pension scheme available.
