Job Description

Our client is looking for a facilities assistant to start immediately in Leeds city centre in a role that can be quite physical. This is a temporary, part time role until 31.03.20.

The role 15 hours per week and can be worked via the following shift patterns:

5 days (Monday-Friday ), 5pm to 8pm
OR
4 days (Monday-Thursday), 3 days 4pm to 8pm and 1 day 5pm to 8pm

The hourly pay rate for the role is between £8.57 and £9.50

Main responsibilities for the role are:

o Layouts. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for booking, moving and arranging furniture and maintaining the development rooms. The floors each have one large room which can seat up for up to 60, in either a lecture theatre style or with tables, cabaret style. There is also a range of smaller break out rooms of varying sizes for groups of 2 to 20.

o Front-Line Audio-Visual Support. The Facilities Assistant provides basic Audio-Visual support for the development rooms including the provision of data projectors and LCD screens for connecting to laptops, Video conferencing is also supported. The Facilities Team works in close liaison with IT technicians to deal with more complex audio-visual requirements and technical faults/issues.

o Event Support. The Facilities Assistant will keep the rooms cleared and tidy and fully stocked. During the duration of an event/course the Assistant will be on hand to assist with any queries/requests.

o Food and Drink Provision. Cold buffet style lunches are provided in the Café, with fruit, snacks and cakes available throughout the day in the development hubs. The Facilities Assistant works closely with the catering team to clear the café and wash up crockery. Coffee machines are available to use at any time during the day, with a range of coffees, teas and hot beverages. The Facilities Assistant keeps these machines stocked, clean and tidy.

o Evening Meals and events. The Facilities Assistant may be required to support evening events at the Academy including Hot Fork Buffets, Celebration Dinners and Award ceremonies.
