Job Description

Our City based client, an Insurance Underwriter, is looking for a Facilities Officer whose role will be maintaining the efficient operation of the office environment in terms of cooling, heating, lighting, security, cleaning and general maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within Facilities and will manage the Health and Safety responsibility for the office, including workstation assessments. This role also provides administration support for the office including deliveries, post in and out and general office duties.

This is a broad role that not only requires good management of services and contractors but also requires the candidate to tackle some mundane tasks on a regular basis so flexibility and adaptability are key.

Your key responsibilities will involve ensuring the office environment is operating smoothly, efficiently and effectively. Dealing with problems and liaising with staff, building managers, suppliers and contractors.

You will be responsible for all facility and office related services and contracts, including the performance of suppliers and control of costs. These services include; cleaning, office maintenance, photocopiers, vending machines, office suppliers, couriers and archiving.

You will ensure compliance with all Health & Safety matters in relation to the office and staff working environment. This will involve ensuring checks are carried out on all utilities and maintaining accurate records. You will have experience of fire safety arrangements for the office including fire officer`s duties (and training) maintaining records in relation to fire drills and ensuring any actions are addressed.

You will maintain accurate records in relation to paper archiving records, and oversee all aspects of the service provided.

In addition you will manage the in/out of post and delivery services; including post, packages, supplies and stationery.

Previous experience in a similar facilities based role is ESSENTIAL, including Health & Safety management.

You will have excellent organisational and time management skills and be a strong communicator both oral and written
