Family and Carers Practitioner
BS Social Care
Location: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear
Job Type: Permanent - 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £24,193.77 - £28,116.74

BS Social Care are working alongside an established organisation who are looking for someone to join their team as a Family and Carers Practitioner for their Sunderland service.

You will be responsible for developing a package of support for families and carers of those with substance misuse problems, supporting volunteers and staff members to advise and assist families and carers, and linking in with other agencies within the community, and mutual aid groups. You will coordinate family and carer Involvement with a recovery orientated substance misuse model, as well as assess and support family and carers by providing advice and information. You will develop links with statutory and third sector organisations to improve access to services for Family and Carers, and support in the development of psycho-social interventions that can support family and carers.

You will have an existing background of working with drug and alcohol issues and a clear understanding for the need and ability to delivery quality services. As well as this, you will have experience of safeguarding and knowledge of the issues facing drug and alcohol users, including appropriate medical interventions, social care, and health issues. You will have an existing knowledge of the current family systems therapy and local community-based support practices. You will have excellent communication skills, a non-judgemental attitude and knowledge. of local services and geography.
