Job Description



Do you have experience as a Family Care Secretary?

Previous experience essential.

Key duties in this role are:
To undertake a full range of secretarial duties including audio and copy typing, word processing, file opening, filing, time recording and completion of basic legal forms.

To attend on clients, take telephone messages and bring to the fee earner attention.

To make telephone calls to clients and others and to provide information without reference to fee earners and to take appropriate action on messages received.

To carry out any other associated duties; which may from time to time be reasonably required by the Managing Director/ fee earners.

Skills: Keyboard and IT Skills,

An understanding of basic legal practice relevant to the department.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Confidentiality.

An understanding of basic family law practice, business and accounting procedures.

Organise the diaries of fee earners who spend considerable time at Court and to maintain an office presence.

The ability to deal with sometimes distressed and demanding family law clients.

To be aware of the content of the staff handbook at all times
