Job Description

We are looking for Level 3 qualified or above in social work, health or education or the equivalent and evidence of a commitment to continuing to learn and continue with their professional development.

This job is an intensive family support service for families with multiple and complex needs. We have to work in partnership with families who are experiencing challenging situations / circumstances, in their homes and in the wider community, in order to achieve positive outcomes for the whole family. It is important to work in partnership with other relevant agencies, for example YOT, School, Children`s Service, Health and Department for Work and Pensions and to improve outcomes for Birmingham families and children is paramount.

You will be supporting a fully qualified social worker and the job will be Monday to Friday 9-5. You will need to be responsible for an allocated case load of families, who have multiple and complex needs. Work with families in a variety of settings, in particular the family home to address key issues that have an impact on parenting capacity, children`s developmental needs and family and environmental factors. As well, as the Think Family Agenda. You will be responsible for working with appropriate partners to deliver interventions and to contribute to the assessment of families, where children are under Child in Need, Child Protection Plans and where relevant Early Help Assessment, as part of a step down approach.

You will need to be educated to level 3 or above with a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education or equivalent and evidence of a commitment to continuing learning and professional development. You will also need experience in providing direct support in the home to children and families with complex needs which may include parenting, mental health, offending, substance misuse domestic violence and abuse and/or educational, including experience of working in community settings. It is important to have the knowledge of childrens development along with understanding of good parenting. Experience within child protection and safeguarding is paramount.

The ideal candidate will need to hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification with at least 12 months experience with a family support role. The candidate also will need to drive.

Salary will be £9-10 per hour.
