** Female Support Worker **
** Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire **
** Permanent & full time **

** 37.5hrs hours per week **
** £17,550 / £9ph **
** E; 7am - 2.30pm and L; 2pm - 9.30pm **
** Adults with Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy & Autism / complex needs **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a female Support Worker for an adult`s residential home within Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. We are looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others. It is essential that you have at least 1 years of experience within LD / Autism / complex needs. This could be voluntary experience or a family member but must be confident.

About the role; this role will require manual handling and personal care, meaning that you will not be afraid to deliver physical care and get stuck in. You will be working with adults who have moderate to severe Learning Difficulties, Epilepsy and challenging behaviour. Your typical day would include; hand over, supporting the service users get up washed, dressed and get ready for day centre, shopping or activities. You will complete paper work and keep care plans up to date. You will be a Key Worker, or a Link Worker so expect to be responsible for a particular service user including arranging their activities/medication and have everything then need to receive the best possible care. You will assist in picking them up from the day centre and providing personal and helping with dinner, then get ready for the evening. This role is very hands on due to the service users needing physical support with personal care and meals to ensure they have the best quality of life possible.

About the ideal candidate; we are looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others. It is essential that you have at least 1 years of experience within LD / Autism / complex needs. This could be voluntary experience or a family member but must be confident. It is also essential that you are empathetic and compassionate towards the residents of the home and interested in the role for the right reasons. We need understand the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and supporting them to grow and have independence. The home is a friendly home, however fast paced and busy, so we are looking for candidates that are looking for that type of environment. You will need to be a driver, holding a manual licence for at least 2 years so you can drive the van on shift. This organisation looks to upskill and progress their team and offer the opportunity to become Shift Leaders after probation if that is of interest.

In return; this role can offer a full time and permanent role working 37.5hours per week including weekend work. You will work a mix of earlys; 7am - 2.30pm, lates; 2.00pm - 9.30pm. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on interview. The benefits include; a higher pay grade for having a qualification, will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
