Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Support Worker to join a supportive team at a residential unit that specialises in supporting young people with Autism and learning disabilities.

You will be supporting individuals in a team or on a 1-1 basis, helping with their daily routines and following care plans as well as assisting with personal care needs and encouraging involvement in their activities. You will be assessing and recording the progression of the young people and be handling and administering medication. All training for the role will be given. The service is located in a scenic, rural location in Gloucestershire and we are looking for passionate candidates to help enable the residents to enjoy a high quality education, achieve their ambitions and thrive in an environment designed with their needs in mind.


Contract:
£8.25 per hour, rising to £8.75 per hour at the next level of the role.
37.5 hours a week
Shift pattern: Various shifts times between the hours of 7 am to 9 pm, including alternate weekends. Staff are expected to do occasional sleep-ins.

Qualifying candidates:
- 1 year experience in care with autism or learning disabilities or challenging behaviour
- Level 2 NVQ/ QCF is desirable but no essential
- Understanding, calm, creative and willing
