My client is looking for a full time Finance Administrator to join their team as soon as possible!

Brook Street is pleased to be able to offer the position of a Finance Administrator with one of the most recognised specialised ship design architect consultancy, who provides a bespoke service from initial design all the way through to full production. They are looking for someone to join their team on a 1 year contract to cover a maternity leave.

Who's right for the job?

The role requires someone who is switched on and has the ability to get stuck straight into the role and won't require much training. They are looking for someone who is AAT qualified to suit the role best and someone who has the initiative to suggest and implement improvements to the current process. You will need to be adaptable, organised and proactive and proficient experience in Excel is essential. The ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and work under pressure are the skills you will need to be successful in this role. The finance administrator will be reporting to the regional finance controller and the management accountant and they should be able to communicate effectively.

The responsibilities of the role…

  • Day to day transaction processing for the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and General Ledger teams
  • Dealing with staff expense claims
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • VAT reconciliations
  • Credit control
  • Dealing with all client and supplier queries
  • Assisting with financial year end
  • Any other ad-hoc duties that are required

In return for your hard work, our client offers a competitive salary of £18,000 - £21,000, depending on experience. Working hours are standard office hours, but can be discussed at interview. My client also offers 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, life assurance and the ability to work flexi-time. A bonus scheme is also in place and the details can again be discussed at interview.
