Job - Finance Assistant
Salary -
£23,000 - £26,000 per annum

Permanent, Full Time 9:00 - 17:30

This is a great opportunity for someone who is either qualified by experience or has gained their AAT qualifications to join a longstanding business in Wallingford as a Finance Assistant. You must have knowledge of Sales/Purchase ledger and have the ability to progress with self-motivation in your finance career. You will be working in a small team combined with the Finance Manager to deliver all accounting procedures varying from VAT, Sales Ledger to Invoicing.


What will you be doing as a Finance Assistant?
Keep purchase ledger up to date coding to all nominal and department codes
Post all invoices/credit/supplier payments
Responsible for petty cash
Preparing reports and posting on SAGE
Analyse and reconcile credit card expenditure before entry onto SAGE
Joint responsible for the preparation of payroll internally - submitting to outsourced payroll provider on fortnightly basis
Analyse payroll trends and create management reports to help track payroll spend/productivity
Sales ledger and purchase ledger
Training will be provided for analysing and preparing into sage
Role reports into Head Finance
Producing invoices, statements and credit notes
Posting daily cash receipts
Reconciling cash receipts to bank statements
Providing customers with VAT receipts
Provide cover within in department when other staff are on leave.

You should apply for this role if you have…
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
AAT or Finance Qualification beneficial but not essential
Experience ideally with preparation of VAT returns
Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks across vary department
Enjoy working on own initiative and as part of a team to deliver results, learn and share knowledge
Possess excellent IT skills, including experience of working with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Sage Line 500 would be beneficial
