Brook Street (UK) Ltd is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Finance Officer on behalf of our Belfast-based public sector client.
The duties in this role will include supporting the Finance Business Partner and the Finance Senior Leadership team, managing and monitoring data systems, developing policies and reports, managing a team within the Finance department, managing conduct and performances within the team, liaising with government departments, providing effective and timely financial and management reports, providing advice to stakeholders, and attending working groups and government committee meetings.
Candidates must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years out of the past 5 years, and will be required to go through a SC security check. In addition, candidates must have:
Knowledge and understanding of accounting policies and practices.
Experience of working in an accounting environment.
Experience of analysing information from a range of sources.
Experience of providing written and oral advice to senior management.
Excellent interpersonal / customer service skills.
Understanding of information management.
Information technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and financial modelling.
Excellent written and oral communication and an ability to explain complex information to a range of audiences including non-accountants.
Budget management skills.
Our client has advised us that their desirable skills for this role are:
Working towards a full professional Accountancy Qualification i.e. CCAB, CIMA or equivalent.
Strong Excel modelling skills.
Business Partnering experience or experience of working with large investment programmes.
This is a full-time role with hours worked from Monday to Friday, and is for a fixed-term contract of 6 Months based in Belfast.
