Job Description

Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for a new challenge?

Have you previously worked within the mechanical engineering or manufacturing industry?

Do you have either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifications?

Brook Street are proud to be representing our client who is a leading business that manufactures and supplies innovative power production equipment, for a range of applications, to companies around the world.

You will be a key member of the senior management team and be responsible for a small team within the finance department.

Salary: up to £65,000 plus annual bonus

Location: Oakham, office based (1 day hybrid considered)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead Business' financial strategy with appropriate reporting and KPIs, etc
  • Ensures that financial information is timely, accurate, and complies with the relevant accounting standards and tax regulations and with Group guidelines.
  • Ensures control of the formal and substantive correctness of the accounting and administrative operations carried out by the Company, ensuring compliance with legal and tax obligations relating to company administration and the preparation of the annual and periodic financial statements as specified in the duties and responsibilities
  • Manage, develop, and coach the Finance team members.
  • Carry out workload according to agreed corporate and statutory reporting deadlines. The role requires a hands-on approach with specific responsibilities for cash flow management, accounting, and legal reporting.
  • Preparation of Company Budget; analysis of Profit and Loss, Sales Analysis activities.
  • Management of payroll and pension provisions for employees across the business
  • Promotes an approach aimed at improving and updating the structure in terms of systems, procedures, policies.
  • Arrange and manage HP/Lease Finance, Insurance policies
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations, VAT returns, Intrastat updates, currency buying procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring all invoices and credit notes are processed appropriately and accurately, as well any associated queries

Skills required:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a financial managerial position
  • Minimum 6 years financial accountant experience in a medium sized company
  • Typically educated to university level and/or hold a relevant professional qualification
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of MS office products
  • Realistic proven record of budgeting and estimates and demonstrates the financial/cost analysis skills required to produce company accounts.
  • Computer literate, able to use SAP, Sage payroll, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Full UK driving licence
