Job Description

Finance Officer - Assistant Accountant
Location: Gilberdyke
Contract: 3 months temporary initially
Salary: Dependant on experience
Part time: 15 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

About our client:
A busy and exciting medical centre are looking to take on an experienced Finance officer/assistant accountant to join their fantastic place of work.

About the role:
You will be supporting the Finance Manager in ensuring the Financial Accounting processes are completed thoroughly along with completion of their own workload to meet all relevant financial timetables in delivery of financial management remit as set out by the Finance Manager.
You will carry out duties in line with departmental accounting policies, and reference to individual organisation's Standing Financial Instructions and assist in the production of the monthly financial statements.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Ensure that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines.
* Responsible for the preparation and input of financial data into the ledger that ensures all financial reports accurately reflect the current financial position of the service/department.
* To analyse and review Debtor and Creditor positions to ensure adherence to timely invoicing and receipt of income and timely payment to creditors.
* Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial information, investigating and resolving finance queries, liaising internally and externally in a timely manner. Communication will be required orally, in writing or electronically.
* Standard keyboard skills required.
* Follows guidelines and may be required to comment on improvements and changes.
* Light physical effort / inputs at a keyboard for most of the day.
* Act on own initiative in prioritising and managing workload, in respect of clinical, managerial, and administrative areas, as necessary.
* Maintain own personal and professional development as agreed at your annual review.

About you:
Qualifications:
* AAT member/Certificate level (including other accounting bodies ACCA, CIMA etc) or equivalent experience.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification/experience.
Experience:
* Producing monthly management reports.
* Undertake simple costings.
* Support systems development and maintenance.
* Provide first line support to Finance Manager.
* Evidence of advanced Excel skills.

* Can deliver to deadlines.
* Motivated and enthusiastic, ability to work on own, or as part of a team.
* Calm and resolute under pressure.
* Able to travel between network practices and to meeting venues when required.
