Job Description

Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be working with our client in Derry/ Londonderry to recruit a new Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join the team.

The Financial Controller / Finance Manager will have responsibility for overall management, direction and co-ordination of the plant finance functions to optimise the accounting, treasury management and company secretarial to acceptable quality commensurate with costs and customer requirements. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller

Responsibilities include

* Ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate
* Acquire knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and associated documentation
* Comply with all Health & Safety Policies and instructions and actively contribute to Company efforts to promote safe behaviour and safe systems of work.
* Provide analytical, interpretive, investigative and advisory services on business and commercial impact, including supporting the Plant Manager as required.
* Responsible for the integrity of the accounts and to ensure that the accounting function operates at all times in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and board policy.
* Ensuring that the specific ledgers, records and books of accounts such as payroll records and proper expense distribution are maintained to satisfy company and governmental requirements
* Liaison with Auditors to complete year end statutory accounts in a timely fashion as required and ensure that no major write-ups are received.
* Work with third party advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion and filing of tax returns
* Establishing annual budgets, monthly accounts, and weekly forecasts, in line with business requirements.
* Overseeing the payroll team in administering salary, wage and benefit programs, and in ensuring that the company PAYE returns are correct
* Develop and maintain effective programs so departmental KPI's and budgets are monitored and controlled.
* Maintain adequate internal controls
* Assisting in the preparation of and review of project requests for all capital expenditure
* Communicate, motivate and develop subordinates through regular performance reviews including annual reviews, involvement in target setting and through routine exchanges.
* Develop an understanding of product standard costs, monitoring and updating as necessary
* Carry out/manage any other projects or tasks as requested by the Group Financial Controller or Plant Manager from time to time.

Criteria
* Professional Accountancy Qualification
* At least 2 year's experience in a similar role
* Proficient in Microsoft Packages
