Job Description

I have a fantastic full time opportunity for a Fleet Administrator role based in Thatcham. This role is a temporary assignment for initially 3 months with view to being extended thereafter. It is for 37.5 hours from Monday till Friday.

The Temporary Worker will provide administrative support. He or she will follow set procedures and will exercise some independent judgment in carrying out instructions, under general supervision. Examples of work performed will include but not be restricted to:

Be the initial point of contact for all vehicle fleet and hire vehicle requests from the customer

To meet customer requests in line with MOD policy.

Prepare all vehicle paperwork and associated forms by the end of the working day for the next day and by midday Friday for the weekend.

Have a good working and practical knowledge of microsoft outlook and excel

Have experience of working with and using databases

Be the vehicle wash-down facility custodian, logging all requests to use the facility and that they conform to the HASAW risk assessment.

Support the customer by carrying out a limited amount of driving tasks during periods of high demand.

Be willing to work the occassional weekend to support the business need. Time off in lieu will be given in kind in liaision with Line Manager.

Mandatory training - as per current departmental policy; MOD vehicle fleet management systems training (training will be given and completed when in post)

Required Knowledge and Skills
Must be able to deal with members of the public and military personnel in a friendly and efficient manner. Must be able to deal with the unexpected visitor before allowing entry. Must have the ability to take telephone enquiries and channel such enquiries to the correct department. Must have the ability to operate the computers especially with regard to the internal electronic mail system and file system. Dealing with course and visitor notifications and requests.


Salary: £7.98 per hour plus holiday pay
