Job Description

A well established large organization is recruiting for Full or Part time daytime support workers for their supportive living service in Radstock / Midsomer Norton. You will mainly be supporting with a very fun and active Gentleman who has Autism, Anxiety and challenging behaviour - he can be physical sometimes.

Main Job Role:
- He is a fun and active individual who enjoys being outdoor most of the time and is technology orientated. He has autism and anxiety and using tech is how he gets this out so can get physically challenging if he wants to stay on tech but you will need to take him off this activity as long periods on tech are not good for him. You have specific guidelines in place to get him to stops e.g. count downs, write on a board etc
- Support him with activities like Yoga, cooking classes, bowling and even going to the adventure park
- Staff needs to be very confident to work here, but he doesn`t respond well to people who are loud or in his face
- Needs a lot of help, guidance and support with everyday duties i.e. cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping etc
- Sometimes he may need assistant with some personal care
- Has a lot of specific trigger words - doesn`t like `please`
- Need to be on the ball at all times, constantly aware of what you are saying and what he is saying

Contract / Terms:
- Salary is £7,072 - £16,185 per annum = £8.50 an hour
- Full or part time avilable 16 - 37.5 hours per week
- Mondays to Fridays + alternative weekends
- Shifts can vary but mainly are between 8am - 10pm

Qualifying candidates:
- All candidates must have experience working with autism and challenging behaviour. Experience with epilepsy and car drivers is desirable but not essential

Benefits (pro rota):
- Full training and will also get put through the NVQ qualification
- 25 days holiday + 8 bank holiday = 32 in total
- 6 months sick pay (3 months full pay and 3 months half pay)
- Cycle to work scheme
