Job Description

I am recruiting for a Fundraising Assistant/Administrator to work for an extremely well known, reputable and invaluable palliative care hospice charity who are based in Solihull; this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a role where your help and support makes a real difference to people's lives and my client is offering a salary of up to £19632 per annum depending on experience

THE ROLE
You will be responsible for providing fundraising and administrative support to the fundraising team within the Hospice. You will assist in building and developing fundraising relationships within the community, by providing excellent stewardship and support to their fundraising groups, volunteers and key supporters.

This is a varied administrative role where you will be carrying out duties such as processing donation payments, meeting families, volunteers and fundraisers in the hospice, answering general queries and helping support them with fundraising questions, ensuring databases are up to date and helping with reports to name just a few.

THE COMPANY/TEAM
You will be working for a long standing, well known and established charity that operate on a national level and offer in home and hospice care and support to people with a terminal illness and their families. You will be based in an office within the Hospice working with a team of community fundraisers and volunteers.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Undertake administrative duties to help support the fundraising team
- Processing donations on the inhouse system
- Ensuring that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained
- Provide reports and information about activity, performance, supporters, volunteers etc.
- Provide excellent stewardship and on-going support and motivation to fundraising groups and volunteers
- Provide guidance and support for office-based volunteers
- Provide support to members of the public who enquire about fundraising, via phone, mail and in person, and encourage their support
- Be the first point of contact within fundraising at the hospice for supporters, patients, their families and other hospice visitors
- Ensure that face to face enquiries at the hospice are dealt with in a sensitive way
- Assist the team in developing supporters by carrying out welcome and stewardship calls
- Assist the team in managing collections campaigns

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Experienced within administration
- Experience within phone-based, face to face and email customer service
- Experience, knowledge or interest within the fundraising, charity, not for profit industry
- Attention to detail and strong data inputting skills
- Excellent IT skills with experience learning complex internal bespoke systems
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- A customer focussed individual with the ability to build rapport/relationships with various people/professions, both internally and externally
- Exceptional listening and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Must be a genuine, conscientious, patient and ethical in nature
- Adaptable approach to meet client needs (e.g. Sensitivity, patience, friendliness, empathy and efficiency)
- Driver would be ideal but not essential (to help with off-site fundraising collections if needed)
