They work throughout the UK, employing a multi-professional team of engineers, surveyors and experts in all types of construction projects.
My client is looking for a Graduate Highways Engineer/ Technician to join their Highway Engineering Team. They are offering a competitive salary of £23,000 to £25,000. They offer a pension scheme, initial 25 days holiday rising for long service and free on-site parking. This role would be on a permanent basis. The company also has a strong commitment to training ranging from 'on the job training' in new software and design techniques to training programmes for Chartered status and external short courses.

Your team undertakes the following tasks;
o Site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application advice
o Design of roads, junctions and drainage
o Production of pre and post-planning technical reports
o Junction capacity modelling
o Road Safety Auditing
o Utility Assessments

Relevant skills and experience you might have;
o You will be willing to gain experience working in a transport planning / engineering design consultancy. Previous experience not essential.
o You will be willing to interface with consultancy design and construction teams utilising competent communication skills both orally and in writing.
o You can learn under supervision preparation of horizontal and vertical highways design.
o Strong self-motivation and initiative.
o You will have the ability to learn relevance of highway planning procedures, UK design principles and standards.
o You can follow instructions and to work well with others as part of a team.
