We are working on an exclusive basis with a fantastic Accountacy Firm with an office in Bridgewater. They are on the look out for a Group Tax Manager. In order to be successful you will need to be capable of working in an entrepreneurial environment, balancing commercial work; management as well as having the technical skills listed below.

The successful candidate's duties will include but will not be restricted to the following:

• Oversight and management of direct and indirect taxes in compliance with relevant laws and regulations; ensuring compliance within timeframes.

• Legally minimise tax liability through informed application of tax laws and regulations.

• Identify and mitigate tax risks, improve processes by developing or implementing best practices and robust controls for tax returns and reporting tax compliance and tax payments.

• Build and maintain relationships with other relevant Aspen Waite staff in all offices to provide innovative tax planning and consulting expertise.

• Taking responsibility for all Aspen Waite tax staff, providing support, direction and training as needed, to the discretion of the many.

• Building relationships with and managing a portfolio of clients and attending to all necessary compliance and advisory matters on their behalf. Providing proactive advice, planning and solutions and attending to all ancillary matters such as billing and suitable correspondence.

• Providing briefings as necessary to Aspen Waite staff, appropriate to their position and degree of the matter including the impact of changes in tax law.

• Setting and communicating tax risk strategy and tax policies across the business.

• Providing innovative tax planning and reviewing complex income tax returns.

• Delivering quality tax services to increase the firm's reputation.

• Take responsibility for all relevant tax practice software.

• Lead and mentor the tax team and manage to greater performance, create and implement tax plans, working effectively with the accounting and leadership teams.

• Plan for and develop the overall return calendar.

• Help to ensure that suitable procedures are in place inside the accounting department to provide all the information necessary to complete clients' corporate and/or personal tax returns.

• Liaising with and providing guidance and support to the Group Chief Executive.

Successful applicants would have detailed knowledge, understanding and application of several of the following taxes, and sufficient awareness and capability to manage staff in delivering work in the others:

• Inheritance Tax Planning & Strategies;

• Capital Gains Tax Planning including Entrepreneurs Relief;

• Corporation Tax especially R&D Tax Credits, Capital Allowances, Land Remediation Relief;

• Income Tax Planning & Strategies including Remuneration Planning, Advising on Trusts & Relevant Pension matters;

• VAT, keeping abreast of legislation and liaising with all staff involved in VAT Return preparation including guidance and briefings for other professional staff;

• Keeping abreast of International Taxes and issues as relevant for the Aspen Waite client base;

• Payroll Taxes including liaising and supporting the Payroll Tax Manager.
