Job Description

Location - Coventry
Hours - 9-5
Pay rate - £10.02 per hour
Immediate start

The role holder will provide support on COVID related building matters, including mitigations and risk assessments, action planning and project support for COVID mitigation works, which could be at an alternate location. They will also be required to engage with key stakeholders during the life of any projects. They will also provide support to Delivery Managers and site Building Champions in maintaining health, safety and security standards to HMCTS policies.

The key purpose of the role is to

Ensure compliance with COVID guidelines and internal health, safety and security policies. This will include working closely with the Senior Person on site and contributing to strict reporting deadlines for local assessments, conducting reviews of existing risk assessments, conducting risk assessments where new risks are identified, supporting local officers in liaising with contractors providing facilities management and security functions.

The role holder will be expected to provide Operations Managers / Delivery Managers / SPOS with accurate and timely information to support:

" Security assessment reviews
" Risk assessment reviews
" Reviews of business continuity plans, and fire/incident control plans
" Progress with action plans arising from statutory inspection
" Quarterly site assessments

The role holder will be expected to play a key role in planning for any local projects to support business delivery, recovery or COVID mitigations. These might include, but are not limited to, being an active support to projects such as:

" Alternative hearing venues
" Extended operating hours
" Capital works to support core business

The role holder will also be expected to engage with local stakeholders and partners on project and any all issues relating to health, safety and security


Key responsibilities

Operations

" COVID countermeasures - ensuring that additional controls are implemented, monitoring compliance and addressing failings identified. The role holder will provide regular updates to the Delivery Manager on progress of actions identified on the COVID Assessment Tool. The role holder may also have line management responsibility for a number of COVID marshals
" Project Support - in setting up any additional venues or ancillary buildings (e.g. Portacabins) as agreed nationally
" Provide support and Direction to Buildings Champions, who are responsible for general building issues, cleaning, security, maintenance etc via helpdesk
" FM and Security Contractor Liaison - including oversight of spot checks and weekly checking regimes
" Generic Risk Assessments, BCPs, Fire Incident Control Plans - Undertake reviews on a rolling basis
" Review all internal Security and Safety Operating Procedures, and provide Delivery Managers with assurance on compliance
" Fire Drills - support Buildings Champions and FICOs
" Incident Reports - Depending on circumstances & severity - conduct investigation
" Health & Safety Action Plan - Compile plan & progress issues
" Health & Safety Inspection (quarterly) - Conduct on a rolling basis
" Statutory inspection action plans - Compile plan and progress issues arising
" Security Self-Assessment - Review annually and action accordingly
" Health & Safety Self-Assessment Plan - Provide narrative on compliance and issues arising
" Health & Safety Risk Registers - Review and update as required
" Security Assignment Instructions - Review, monitor compliance & suggest variations
" Evacuation Chairs - support local teams with maintaining competence and confidence is using these
" Project support - provide site specific support for any accommodation related projects
" Stakeholder and contractor engagement - engage and support stakeholders and contractors on matters relating to accommodation, health, safety and security
