Brook Street Recruitment is working with our Mallusk client to recruit a new and permanent HGV Mechanic

The candidate for this role must be a qualified and experienced HGV Mechanic with good knowledge of commercial vehicle systems.

Duties

* Mechanical servicing and maintenance to a fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers, routine inspections
* Mechanical repairs and diagnostic fault finding to ensure the fleet is consistently maintained and road worthy
* Work will vary from general servicing on Trucks and Trailers to major repairs
* Engine overhaul and gearbox replacement
* Prepare vehicles for PSV/ MOT
* Vehicle breakdown and roadside assistance when required
* Liaise with the team on work progress and any problems or delays that may occur, also ensuring relevant documentation is complete


Requirements

* Level 3 qualification in HGV Repair or similar
* HGV licence preferred but not essential.
* Proven mechanical experience on commercial vehicles/ Trailers
* Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle systems and diagnostic fault finding
* Professional approach to your workload
* Able to carry out repairs efficiently and to a high standard
* Computer Literate and proficient in the use of Smartphones/ Hand-held devices

Salary will be determined at interview based on experience
