Brook Street Recruitment is partnering with a well-established client in Ballyclare to recruit an experienced HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional workshop environment where your skills will be valued and developed.
The Role
As part of a dedicated team, you'll play a key role in keeping a fleet of commercial vehicles safe, compliant, and road-ready. You'll be involved in everything from routine servicing to complex diagnostics and full vehicle rebuilds.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs across a fleet of HGVs
- Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Complete repairs efficiently and in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Undertake electrical work, strip-downs, and rebuilds
- Work collaboratively with the parts team to ensure correct components are used
- Accurately complete job cards, service sheets, and time records
- Identify and report vehicle defects to the Workshop Supervisor
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Support apprentices and trainees as required
- Road test vehicles and attend breakdowns when necessary (if qualified)
What We're Looking For
- Time-served HGV / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- HGV licence (desirable but not essential)
