Job Description

Are you looking for a Higher Executive Officer role based in the Newcastle area? Do you have excellent IT skills and a background in data management? We are thrilled to support our public sector client in their search for a Higher Executive Office to join them in their busy, technical services team.

Contract: Temporary, expected until end of April 2019.
Location: Newcastle Business Park
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 9 - 5 (Flexi time)
Pay Rate: £14.54 p/h

This role is to work within an established public sector organisation based at Newcastle Business Park. This is an involved Project Management Support Office role concentrating on assisting the smooth running of the project. The successful candidate will work with Programme and Project managers to support effective delivery of programme and project activity while ensuring organisation project standards, set by the central PMO, are being met. If successful, your responsibilities will include the following:

- Support the production of timely, consistent and accurate reporting on programme/project progress to a range of interested parties and groups.
- Lead on organising and coordinating key programme/project meetings such as Boards, Management Groups and Workshops, ensuring the timely production and distribution of support materials.
- Support the development of robust programme/project plans while challenging and testing assumptions to ensure that the plans are realistic and achievable.
- Support Programme and Project activities to navigate governance and control processes.
-Support the identification, analysis and monitoring of risk management strategy.
- Provide constructive challenge to Programme and Project managers to ensure that controls, documentation and approaches provide a clear reflection of progress.
- Ensure that stakeholder responsibilities and needs are understood and addressed in reporting and management arrangements.
- Ensure all key information assets, products, documents, etc. for the project are identified, controlled, tracked, and securely stored.

The successful candidate will have knowledge, skills and experience of:

Knowledge, skills and experience:
-Prior knowledge and experience of programme and project management is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be available to develop required skills
-Prior experience of planning and delivering change activities is desirable.
-Key skills for this role are being well organised, able to work with multiple stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities at the same time.

Qualifications:
-No prior qualifications are required
-Qualifications in any area of programme and project management are are desirable but not essential eg Planning, Management of Risk, Business Case development, PRINCE2, Agile, etc. Training and support will be available to develop required skills.

This is a full time, temporary position currently expected until the end of April 2019 with scope to be extended and become permanent.
