Job Description
Higher Executive Officer
Temporary assignment for 12 months with a possible extension
£18.20 per hour
Hybrid working
Working directly to the Senior Practice Manager, the main purpose of the role is to provide support to the Litigation and Employment Groups' senior management team in the delivery of its core business objectives by assisting with developing the Group's annual budget; monitoring and reporting on performance against it; acting as a key resource with respect to issues like data and performance analysis; assisting with developing performance indicators and other MI to inform the management team's decisions; effectively managing the unit's reporting cycle; and effectively managing the recruitment of temporary staff.
In addition to the management and leadership responsibilities involved, the work will include taking responsibility for:
- Line managing a team of Executive Officer's to ensure work objectives are met including monitoring all aspects of team and individual performance and capability. This includes line management of EOs as well as Leadership responsibilities. Line management experience is essential.
- Manage any projects and work streams within the team.
- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of temporary staff, in which you will be required to attend weekly meetings with our supplier and escalate any issues/risks to team leader.
- Oversee and review the agreed reports that have been run on committed spend, increasing the temporary workers spend as necessary and ensure the team run monthly timesheet reports as necessary as well as obtaining the approval on any increase in hours.
- Oversee, maintain and regularly review the PMU spreadsheets ensuring data is accurately captured and recorded; highlight any discrepancies to be rectified and query any concerns
- Monitor and ensure that the Staff costs are recorded on a monthly basis confirming its completion to Team Lead.
- Oversee the booking and payment of external training courses and invoices on behalf of the Groups' ensuring they remain within the allocated budgetary spend. Keeping a close eye on the spend each month and reporting to the Team Lead.
- Ensure that risks to delivery of team's business aims, objectives and priorities are identified and managed, ensuring that team members are clear on their role in terms of what is expected of them and delivery of work.
- Work within a fast paced environment, to set deadlines and prioritise workloads
- Have a confident approach in engaging and communicating with teams and individuals along with good written skills.
Must have team leader/management skills to be successful
