Job Description

Housing Officer - Birmingham (HYBRID ROLE - 3-4 days at home, 1-2 days in the office)

Salary - £27,582 + car allowance £1,680 - Monday to Friday - Full-time, 37.5 hours

We are in partnership and collaborating with a fantastic client who are a registered care and support charity, who specialise in delivering homes, services, and innovation for the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands and providing support to vulnerable adults. Overview of the role
The client is looking for a full-time Housing Officer, based in Birmingham. To provide a high-quality Estate and Tenancy Management Service to a diverse range of customers within a designated geographical patch, ensuring the varying needs of all customers including those who are vulnerable are met. To work closely with a range of internal and external key stakeholders and key partners in both assisting customers to sustain their tenancies and to promote responsible tenancy conduct for the benefit of all customers, taking enforcement action only where necessary. To maintain clean and green estates and thriving communities.

Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to;
" Engage the support of Tenancy Sustainment Officer where residents with increased vulnerabilities and needs are identified and who require specialist support to sustain their tenancy.
" Provide impartiality and consistency in all alleged incidents of anti-social behaviour and be pro-active in initiating the necessary resolutions within the timescales and in accordance with the clients' Policy & Procedure.
" Take responsibility for managing own caseloads, escalating cases to the Community Safety Team in line with Policy & Procedures
" Provide a visible and positive housing presence where customers have a dedicated first point of contact
" Ensure the best possible start to each new customer through the sign-up process and effective communication with the Lettings Team and Income Collection Team.
" Take responsibility for ensuring the sustainment of each new tenancy and identify and vulnerabilities for support from the Tenancy Sustainment officer.
Required Skills, Experience, & Knowledge
" A current working knowledge of housing legislation and a demonstratable knowledge of housing and welfare benefits. Knowledge of legal processes in relation to serving notices, anti-social behaviour, and arrears recovery
" Experience of working with a wide range of vulnerable service users, and working and liaising with internal and external agencies.
" Computer literate, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and housing management systems.
