Job Description

I am actively recruiting for a Housing Services Manager to join a well-respected Midlands based provider of care and housing. You will join an organisation who is a leading provider of housing, residential and supported living services for vulnerable adults and they have been a market leader in their sector for over 60 years..

This role will deliver a person-centred approach to line managing a team of Housing Officers and Team Supervisors who will work positively with residents from their first point of engagement at property viewing and occupancy sign up stage through to delivering quality tenancy audits, well-being checks and on-going engagement to empower and support residents to effectively meet and manage their tenancies. You will also support tenants to be active within their communities.


Your duties will be varied and will include:

  • Leading and managing the Home and Community team to provide a high-quality housing management service; through a patch-based service delivery approach of tenancy and community management and sustainment.

  • Creating and maintaining sustainable tenancies and effective management of all aspects of tenancies including rent accounts, well-being checks, management of voids, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, impacts of welfare reform, resident engagement, and involvement.

  • Creating and sustaining, safe, productive, thriving, and happy communities by encouraging residents to take an active interest and role in the places in which they live and by working with them and other partners to identify and deliver improvements.

  • Actively supporting performance and development of the Intensive Housing Management function associated to rent accounts, management of voids and tenancy breaches within supported accommodation.

  • Contributing, as part of the Homes and Community Sustainment department, to the successful achievement of the department`s vision, priorities and Operational Action Plan supporting the overall achievement of the Group`s Strategic Plan.


The successful candidate will need confidence to represent the organisation at external meetings such as those with Local Authorities, new development meetings, resident meetings and so on, holding others to account where actions and outcomes are agreed.


You will also:
" Have a minimum of three years` experience of a working in the social housing sector.
" Be able to work under your own initiative, organising your workload to meet goals and KPIs that are set.
" Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as there is a requirement to commute across all housing stock patches
