Job Description

Are you enthusiastic, motivated, and organised? Do you want to use your skills and knowledge to support a team within Defence for a temporary period of 12 weeks? Then this role within Defence Children Services may be for you!

The post holder's primary responsibility is to provide administrative support to the Defence Children Services School Business Team. They will follow set procedures and exercise some independent judgment in carrying out instructions, under the supervision of the Recruitment Officer.

Examples of work performed will include but not be restricted to:

  • Oversee the daily monitoring and filing of the Team Mailbox
  • Provide administrative support to the Recruitment Officer in their recruitment Subject Matter Expert (SME) duties.
  • Ensure up to date recruitment and HR records are maintained. Make and implement suggestions for improving current processes and procedures if/when required.
  • Collate and analyse information and data and create report in the most suitable presentation.
  • Organise and maintain HR position management data to ensure data is accurate and positions are fit for recruitment.
  • Organise historic and current records, store and maintain all data in line with policy and GDPR rules and regulations.
  • Provide clerking services for the School Business Team; book meetings, take and distribute minutes and send out agendas and papers etc. Prepare packs for meeting attendees. Support with research and note taking, sharing communication materials.
  • The successful candidates may be expected to undertake other duties appropriate and commensurate with their grade and the roles and responsibilities of the post, as required by their line manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Five GCSE passes at Grade C or above Two A level passes at grade E or above or equivalent NVQ Management Level 2 (or suitable clerical experience).
  • Administrative experience with a good knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent, communication skills, both oral and written.

Working pattern:

Pay rate: £11/hour

Full-time - 37 hrs per week

Offers flexible hours between Mon-Fri

Location: Upavon, Trenchard lines, SN9 6BE

The roles will be hybrid working, mainly working from home but initially the successful candidates will be required to work from the office in Upavon for training and after this on an ad hoc basis for training, team meetings as required.

*The position is subject to a BASIC DBS check and 3 year's referencing.
