Job Description

My client is looking for a HR advisor to cover a 5-6 month temp contract that has a can do attitude and strong support skills for resolving queries and providing clear advise on recruitment, employee relations and terms and conditions.

This opportunity offers a 37hour working week between Monday - Friday and would pay between £17-£18.50ph on a weekly basis.

An Enhanced DBS would be required for this client either on the update service or a new application processed by Brook Street.

The main duties and responsibilities of the post include the following:-

1. Advise and assist managers with the whole range of HR and employment related queries on terms and conditions, policies, employee relations issues including casework.

2. Coordinate sickness absence processes, including meeting with managers and employees to discuss absences and plans for support and improvement, including Occupational Health referrals, advising on reasonable adjustments, and application of the College`s policies and procedures.

3. Support the implementation and development of HR systems, including data management, training of line managers and employees, and the production of user guides and instruction literature to ensure the best possible use of such systems.

4. To assist in Recruitment processes, including advising managers on recruitment methods including strategic approaches for hard to fill posts, drafting job descriptions, person specifications and adverts, use of different recruitment sources and quality control of processes in close conjunction with the HR Co-ordinator.

5. Write and review policies, procedures, How To guides for managers and staff, ensuring that information is relevant and kept up to date.

6. Undertake projects as directed by the Group Director - Human Resources including researching and making recommendations, report and business case writing.

7. Lead on Maternity, Paternity and Flexible working applications.

8. To oversee probation or capability cases where escalated through the policy and assisting managers to bring cases to an appropriate conclusion.

9. To conduct exit interviews with leavers and provide analysis of the results, identifying areas of concern or making recommendations where particular issues are identified to aid in assisting retention of staff.
Please be advised this role is based over three sites and will require, cover at other locations on a rota basis.
