Job Description

Brook Street (UK) Limited is recruiting an HR Business Partner on behalf of one of our clients in Belfast. The role will be Belfast based but will also include travel to ROI and to the UK.

The candidate hired in this role will be responsible to work closely with managers and leadership to achieve mission objectives, manage all HR matters within a geographic area and contribute to the on-going development and delivery of HR strategy. Working together with other key parts of the HR Department to play a key role in shaping and delivering an effective and strategic service across the Territory

Key responsibilities:
* Develop strong relationships with local managers to influence and deliver local strategy to meet the operational and mission objectives of the company
* Challenge and coach local leadership/management to engage and develop employee capability and behaviours in line with the mission's core values
* Shape the development, delivery and continuous improvement of quality HR support and processes. This includes supporting the development, integration and implementation of HR policy and practice
* Work with local managers to encourage a culture of clear accountability, high engagement and performance, ensuring the effective and innovative use of people resources, in line with the People Strategy
* To manage, motivate and develop direct reports including setting objectives, holding regular one to ones and providing feedback on performance/Service Partnership Agreement
* To manage the area caseload and provide active leadership on HR critical areas such as talent management, workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations issues, absence management and change programmes with a view to minimising risk, identifying problem areas and recommending appropriate actions
* Support line managers with high level recruitment and selection activities, including participation in job analysis, job description and person specification design
* Work with and support other HR Business Partners across the Territory under the direction of the Assistant HR Director-Employee Relations to drive consistency and effectiveness across service
* Conduct regular focus visits locally, to ensure the application of best practice and identify HR support and training needs
* Work to Service Partnership Agreements/Key Performance Indicators and analyse metrics and implement plan for improvement

Essential Experience:

* Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
* Significant experience at a senior level of advising and coaching line managers on complex HR issues with a working knowledge of NI and ROI legislation
* Excellent knowledge of employment law and best practice
* Recent experience of change management including TUPE
* Recent experience of presenting information to managers and staff on key HR issues
* Recent experience of change management and delivery on major change projects
* Experience of implementing HR strategies and monitoring operational plans
* Proven experience of working to tight deadlines and working under pressure
* Recent experience of leading and developing a team
* Strong ER knowledge and expertise in NI and ROI legislation
* Successful track record in leading projects through to completion
* Good business acumen and analytical skill and experience of financial understanding
* Experience of operating within the framework of corporate policies and procedures.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal e.g. report writing, briefing and presentation skills
* Experience of delivering training on HR policies effectively
