Job Description

We are recruiting for a temporary HR Officer based in Gloucester, working for a highly reputable company with over 30 sites in a range of locations, supporting homecare in the community.

This is initially a 3-month contract.

THE ROLE

As an HR Officer you will be responsible for using your experience and knowledge to provide sound advice for the company's 450 staff on any day to day employment queries.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • To offer the business sound advice on day-to-day employment, encompassing employment conflict, dignity, absenteeism, maternity / paternity, disciplinary and broader employee management.
  • Provide the business with management KPI's appertaining to employee turnover.
  • Coach and influence the business with the implementation of effective HR approaches
  • Maintain, develop and review HR handbooks, toolkits, policies and procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with training manager to deliver training across the business, driving value for time for the employee and value for money for the business.
  • Develop mechanisms to drive employee retention.
  • Design and deliver HR associated training.
  • Audit and review Health & Safety compliance.
  • Oversee & guide disciplinary process, to ensure legal compliance and protect company reputation.
  • Maintain own CIPD qualification

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Ideally you will have worked in a Care, Retail or Food sector within HR
  • CIPD qualified
  • Previous working knowledge of day to day employment, including conflict, absence management, maternity/paternity and disciplinaries
  • You will also have the ability to work autonomously with confidence

  • Initial 3-month temporary contract through Brook Street
  • Up to £18 per hour
  • 20 days holiday + 8 Bank holidays (pro rata)
