Job Description

Are you a HR professional looking for a permanent part time role? My client is offering you £13-£15 per hour to work between 15 and 22.5 hours per week. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing, customer focussed and progressive business based in St Albans.

This is a stand-alone role and you MUST have the following to be considered for the position:

  • Minimum of 10 years' previous HR experience at HR Officer level
  • Strong and up to date employment law knowledge
  • Experience of working within an SME environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to act as an effective team member


Responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Senior Management Team as required, attending weekly meetings
Work as a first-line response to all HR queries within the Company
Implementation and upkeep of the company's culture and values
Managing sickness absence issues and GP referrals, including long term sickness absence
Ensuring return to work meetings are held and appropriate action taken
Overseeing employee benefits
Preparation of position contracts, amending/updating as required
Drafting job adverts, posting online and dealing with applications
Preparation of offer documents
Ensuring annual appraisals and probationary review meetings are carried out, with any training actioned
Preparation of general staff letters
Ensuring HR strategy is in line with future growth plans
Drafting, circulating and amending Company policies and procedures
Ensuring Sharepoint HR files are kept up to date
Advising and assisting with disciplinary and grievance meetings, as required
Advising on maternity, paternity, flexible working requests, etc.
Assisting with performance management issues
