Job Description

IMPORT & EXPORT CONTROLLER
Fixed term contract 9 months
Stone, Staffordshire
£20,000 - £28,000 per annum - pro rata - dependent on experience

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our client in Stone, Staffordshire for a fixed term role as Import and Export Flow Controller.

Areas of responsibility
" To reply to the Customer on Time - Customer first
" Arranging despatch of orders in UK and rest of world
" To create picking, packing and shipping documents on SAP
" Liaise with logistics partners to ensure correct delivery. Coordinate and follow-up the processes of preparation for shipment, readiness of goods, customs clearance, transportation operations to comply with the sales program and customer contract.
" Perform and control preparation of shipping, customs, airway bills and L/C documentation to prevent any delay - Prepare customs clearance documentation (both import and export)
" Request freight sourcing from Sourcing Department to optimise the cost.
" Issuing of Payment Request Notes and invoices correctly and timely to prevent any delay of payment.
" Liaise with Finance/ accounting dept to ensure correct payment
" Archiving of documents to the archive system for VAT Export audit Purposes
" Validation and sign of Logistic / Duties Invoices to sign off level
" To be aware of latest requirements in shipping (included but not limited to dual use and black listed organisation / countries), customs and VAT
" To coordinate the meeting between related departments after receiving the complaints from the customer.
" To provide and take necessary actions about Non-Conformity Reports received from the customers.
" To take necessary actions to avoid similar problems that can cause customer complaints.
" To monitor & support the measurement of KPI's within the supply chain team
" To improve the internal norms and procedures to prevent any problems at site
Network of Interaction
" Internal - Part of Downstream supply chain team. Requirement to liaise with Production and Logistical staff/ Commercial Staff/ ERP project team members, Planning, Production, Quality, Business Development, Sourcing
" External- Customers, Freight Forwarders or Agents, Banks, Insurance Brokers, Surveyors, Suppliers


Essential requirements
" Experience in a similar role; basic knowledge of types of equipment and application to provide clients and sales staff with basic technical information
" Knowledge of incoterms and customs clearance processes
" Good understanding of company products and services would be nice to have but not mandatory. Computer skills and ability to liaise at all levels; ability to meet deadlines
" Exports knowledge
" Ability to liaise at all levels, leadership, organisational behaviour, SAP knowledge



Profile Expected:

1. College or Higher, preference for logistics background and knowledge of customs and incoterm process
2. English language must be spoken and written
3. Must have good communication skills
4. Be able to work well in a team
