Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a skilled IDVA to work with us on a temporary basis for a period of time covering maternity cover.

Working for an organisation that provides support services to women and men who may be experiencing domestic violence, they offer services including helpline work, advice work, IDVA, ISVA BME services.

This role will be to work as an IDVA and key duties will include dealing with risk assessments, managing case loads supporting women experiencing domestic violence. You will be able to create safety plans and undertake the risk assessments, offer any advice within specialist substance misuse IDVA, providing emotional support to clients, and refer them to counselling or mental health services.Therefore an understanding of and experience of working with people who may have a mental health or drug & alcohol issue will be desirable. You will be flexible to work on a 9-5pm basis Monday to Friday which will also include attending community based appointments. There will be support from Line management and so no lone working required.

Ideally you will have direct and relevant experience of working as an IDVA and hold relevant training and qualifications within the field. You will hold a current driving licence with access to your own vehicle.

Relevant and current experience and knowledge of supporting vulnerable people within domestic violence is essential.
