Brook Street Social Care are currently working with one of the North Easts largest sexual violence support services, which offers confidential support to men, women, children, and young people throughout their recovery process.



You will be supportive, understanding, and empathetic. You will have a flexible approach and be a team player. You will be responsible for your own case load of clients to manage and support. You will have a clear understanding of the myths and facts of sexual violence, rape trauma and the long-term mental health effects of sexual violence, self-harm, suicidal feelings, and attempts. You will develop individual safety and support plans to address risks/support needs of client, as well as provide face to face and telephone, practical and emotional support (non-therapeutic) to clients and their supporters, where appropriate.

You will be the point of contact between the service user which you are advising and the police, legal services, and other support services, which you will be acquainted with to support the client through the criminal justice system. You will be responsible for helping with appointments that will help the service users day-to-day living and help to put their mind at ease, whilst their legal case is ongoing and can be focused on.

On successful completion of your probation, you will complete a Level 3 qualification in ISVA.
