Job Description

We have two positions available working as Data and Information Analyst within NHS Digital. This is long-term temporary role.

Location- Leeds City Centre (you will be working remotely)

Hours- Monday- Friday 9am- 5pm

Salary- £12.74 per hours

Overview of the role:

The role will be to support production of Adult Social Care publications. This involves the collection of aggregate returns from 152 Local Authorities, the development and implementation of data quality processes, and contribution to the production of National Statistics publications, as well as any adhoc analysis.

NHS Digital are in the process of reviewing and improving their publications and analytical products, to provide more innovative and informative analysis for our users. Therefore, the role will also involve the development of new and existing analytical products, development of new data interrogation processes, ensuring that quality standards and agreed timescales are met

Key attributes required for the role:

  • Triaging and answering high profile email requests for information, which require analytical work to resolve
  • Producing high quality, innovative data visualisations
  • Understanding customer requirements and creating specifications
  • Delivering frequent data outputs to internal teams
  • Liaising across teams to aid use of data, sharing techniques and upskilling others around them where applicable

Key tasks and deliverables:

  • Update DQ and analytical processes
  • Checking council materials
  • Running DQ reports
  • Logging council queries
  • Monitor mailbox
  • Relevant experience in SAS Enterprise Guide to analyse data and produce complex outputs including multi-layered aggregation
  • Ability to write complex queries in MS SQL Server

What skills, qualifications and knowledge are needed for this role:

  • Strong IT skills- confident with Microsoft packages especially Excel, SAS and SQL
  • Strong Numeracy Skill
  • Strong analytical and resource gathering skills
  • Some understanding of open source programming language for statistics and data management (R, python)
  • 2.1 in relevant Batchelor's degree or equivalent analytical experience
