Job Description

I am currently working with leading charity based in central London; they are looking for an Information Compliance Officer to report to the director of governance. The organisation is already fully GDPR complaint and the role will be ensuring compliance within information law as well as development of processes that promote efficient data handling.

Directly responsible for the surety of our information, particularly our sensitive data, the ICO will be empowered to act, introducing new policies, processes and behaviours.

Main Responsibilities

- Act as Data Protection Officer for the Fund.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with information law, and developing and maintaining the compliance programme.
- Develop plans for, and manage work towards, accreditation through relevant codes of conduct and standards schemes.
- Responsibility for overall records management and the Fund`s information architecture.
- Determine performance metrics and manage ongoing strategic and operational plans to improve and update the Fund`s information management environment, including working towards a "paper-light" system.
- Responsibility for knowledge sharing programme which ensures vital knowledge of systems, processes and information assets is recorded and maintained effectively, supports co-ordinated working, and improves the way we work.
As a key member of the Fund`s support team, the Information Compliance Officer will work across the charity in order to manage all of the Fund`s data and information.

The Information Compliance Officer, through the Senior Management Team (SMT) and other relevant committees, will further develop and develop a robust information management policy and standards framework to deliver appropriate standards, guidelines and practises; thus, ensuring all aspects of the organisation are legal and compliant, and data is managed efficiently.

Skills and Exposure

- Significant experience managing and/or directing information management
- Experience of successfully transforming and managing significant information management projects and services in a large organisation, preferably in a not-for-profit environment
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations that relate to information and data management
- Experience of process mapping and systems development
- Minimum of 3 years exposure to a similar role (essential)

Salary :£50,000-55000
