Job Description

Do you have experience of Data Standards? This is a truly exciting and unprecedented opportunity to help develop an public sector organisation in its formation on a fixed-term basis until March 2022. There is the potential for this role to be extended past this deadline as the organisation develops & grows.

This role offers flexibility with location and although the office is based in Cardiff, applications are considered from remote workers who meet the role requirements.

We are looking for an Information Officer within Data Standards who will work closely with senior staff throughout the organisation.

The organisation has been on a journey as part of a larger Public Sector body and is now looking to appoint teams of upbeat, energetic and driven individuals who want to contribute to the success of the organisation against its vision, mission & values.

As an Information Officer (Data Standards), you will be responsible for taking the lead on new data standards across Wales.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate current data standards and research innovative new methodology
  • Work with senior stakeholders to understand needs across the organisation(s) impacted
  • Plan the development of new standards
  • Plan monthly departmental meetings, including setting the agenda and follow-up actions

About You:

You must be upbeat, energetic, eager to learn and display creativity in your thinking. This is a digitally led organisation and although in its infancy, has bold aims in line with its mission. To achieve these aims, the successful candidate must share this passion.

Basic qualifications:

  • Degree or significant experience in Data Standards / Information
  • Knowledge of data protection standards & legislation
  • Knowledge of information systems
  • Evidence of dealing with complex data sets across multiple areas
