Our client is a newly established IT Managed Service provider with a wealth of experience behind them.
They are a 'remote first' organisation with a flexible working culture, this is a full time role for approx. a 3 month period with the possibility of extension.
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager with a background in IT Managed Services to report into the Head of Customer Onboarding.
You will be joining a team working on a mid-sized (600 users/400 servers) 2-3 month migration of a complete infrastructure for an oil business that has just been purchased by new UK owners out of a large US parent.
Primary purpose is to understand what services the customer needs, scope best fit solutions, secure customer approval, then plan, resource, manage, deliver, handover and bill multiple concurrent projects needed to deliver the required services, communicating constantly and proactively on progress against the plans with colleagues and customer alike
" Critical infrastructure migration projects you are responsible for have been completed, handed over, documented and billed. Other projects are scoped and agreed with appropriate plans in place
" You will be a 'doer', calm under pressure and completely unphased by lack of clarity, customer indecision, constant change and managing multiple projects - able instead to bring order to chaos, find constructive work arounds, and help the customer to feel confident that it will all get sorted
" able to establish positive and trusting working relationships with customers and colleagues alike
" Experienced in handling multiple smaller yet still complex 3 month type projects in the SME space as opposed to primarily working on longer term larger projects in the corporate space.
" an excellent and proactive communicator completely understanding and living by the principle of "being a step ahead of the customer"
" Able to demonstrate a track record of completed infrastructure projects such as O365 migrations, server migrations, application virtualisation projects, DR, BCP and networking and you will be familiar with O365, Azure AD, InTune and EM&S applications and services.
" used to working with IT Infrastructure (as opposed to software) engineers and understand how to scope and plan a project that they can implement without micromanaging them
" familiar with Microsoft licensing and be able to ensure that all licences are procured cost effectively and that everything that gets built gets correctly billed
" comfortable working with and proactively managing subcontractors - be that individuals or businesses working in partnership with us
" tenacious with excellent attention to detail and a completer finisher
" used to working in a distributed "remote first" environment and able to help make that work successfully for you
Highly organised, able to stop when you reach "good enough" and able to prioritise what is important over what is urgent.
" Able to drive with own car
" Happy to travel to customer site in Aberdeen and elsewhere in the UK, and be away from home as needed
Willing and able to work evenings and weekends when needed
