Job Description

If you are experienced working within customer service and are looking for a role with more scope and career prospects, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. We are a market leading insurance Provider


We are now seeking dynamic, enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Underwriting team in the Bristol Regional Service Centre. Once trained and fully up to speed, you will review and evaluate insurance risks for our personal lines products, including Motor, Home, Travel and Pet, ensuring that the decisions we make are in line with our risk appetite.


Working as part of a very fast-paced team, you will deal with referrals from our Mutual Agents regarding our customer's policies. This could be renewals, mid-term adjustments or brand-new business. Whilst you will not be liaising directly with our customers, our philosophy is that the Agents are our customers, so it is vital we build strong working relationships with them and deliver them an exceptional customer service. This will ultimately lead to a positive experience and outcome for our customers.


The majority of the referrals come through via our phone channel, and so a big part of your role will include taking a high volume of calls. We also have a live chat function as an alternative way for our agents to interact with us.


Salary: £19,000 to £23000 p.a. depending on experience, + bonus and other benefits (see below)


Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM. Work-life balance is really important to us here at NFU Mutual, and so you will not be required to work evenings and weekends


NFU Mutual are happy to offer its employees informal homeworking. Our team is located in Bristol, and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish. Due to COVID-19, our employees continue to work from home and a return to the office is being planned for later in the year.
