Job Description
Investigation Officer
Pay rate: £11.34
Hours: Wednesday - Friday (7.5 hours each day)
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
" On a daily basis, maintain and action Warrington ISU in box, Portal and Business World Live
" Fleet support duties including the organisation of the internal fleet car booking system which will involve the delivery of vehicles to other locations
" Ensure vehicles are available for MOT appointments and car services whilst ensuring investigators needs are met
" Assist the Hillsborough investigation with purchase requests and raise purchase orders using the online requisition system in accordance with the procurement processes
" Liaise with the finance department, budget holders and external companies in relation to purchase order queries and the reconciliation of invoices
" Assist with the arrangement of meetings and other events, including the booking of video conference facilities and sending out invitations at the request of investigators
" Book travel, accommodation and car hire on request
" Manage the equipment booking system in respect of the portable audio equipment used in interviews
" Manage access permission to the Hillsborough portal which is restricted to staff working on the investigation
" Assist the Hillsborough Exhibits Team with the provision of material to investigators, ensuring accurate records are maintained to satisfy continuity of exhibits
" Assist the Hillsborough Disclosure Team with administrative tasks as required such as researching, updating spreadsheets and scanning
" Assist the Hillsborough Complaints Team in the registration of material on Perito
" Import / export data as required after it has been authorised by a responsible member of staff
" Photocopy and scan documentation as required
" Carry out HOLMES proof reading
" Assist and liaise with staff members to maintain good communication and relationships and with colleagues in other regional offices and interested parties
PERSON SPECIFICATION :: KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS
The essential requirements are:
" Experience of working in an administrative or office support role
" Proven experience of working effectively in a team environment
" Experience in using PC applications particularly Word and Excel
" Good level of education
" Excellent analytical skills, sound judgement and self-confidence
" Demonstrate a high level of attention and accuracy
" Experience in dealing with internal parties to complete tasks successfully
" Sound administrative skills with the ability to organise and prioritise when under pressure, meet or negotiate deadlines
" Analytical skills appropriate to the role, with the capacity to absorb and organise new information to ensure well briefed on new topics
" Strong inter-personal (written and oral) communication skills
" Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise workload to ensure key objectives of the role are consistently achieved
" Comfortable making decisions within a clear framework of delegation
" Full driving licence valid for driving in the UK
The desirable requirement is:
" Proficiency with the HOLMES 2 computer application
" Experience or understanding of police forces and criminal justice system
" Typing experience with a minimum of 40 to 50 words a minute
