I have a great opportunity for a Kennel Assistant to work at Tilbury Port. You will be working for a government department looking after the welfare of up to 5 dogs. The position is working Monday - Friday from 7/8am - 4/5pm and will need some flexibility as you may be required to work occasional weekends and bank holidays.

The day to day duties will be to look after the dogs who are not out working at the port this will include keeping the dogs fed, groomed, exercised and kennels clean. The dogs use an exercise facility which is based away from the kennels so you will be required to transport the dogs in a van so a full clean manual driving license is essential.

The position is physically demanding as you will be on the go all day working indoors and out in all weather conditions. You will be confident working hands on with the dogs and be able to take ownership for your own work. You will be part of a team but you will be working alone on occasions.

As you will be working within a government department you will need to undergo a high level of vetting which requires a full current passport. The applicant who is successful in obtaining the position will need to come into the Chelmsford office to complete the paperwork with original documents of your passport and full driving license.

The pay rate starts at £8.21p/h rising to £9.13p/h after 12 weeks. Please note that anyone under the age of 24 will be paid the applicable national minimum wage and people over the age of 25 will be paid the applicable national living wage.
