We have a fantastic opportunity to work with children with a range of needs in a college near Stroud.
You will be part of a well-respected national organisation that provides support to children and young people who have a range of needs, from Learning Difficulties and Autism, to emotional and behavioural needs and mental health difficulties.
You will be involved in taking the young people through their time in college, supporting them to build healthy relationships and for them to move into a happy adult life. The young people will be aged between 16 - 21 years old, and may have been disadvantaged in life, or may experience a range of difficulties, including learning difficulties or mental health needs. You will be supporting them with all aspects of college life and providing a positive adult role model, encouraging them to undertake positive and healthy activities.
You'll need to have at least 6 months relevant experience and ideally a be a driver. You will be a caring individual with a passion for supporting others to help them achieve their full potential. You will have an understanding of the needs of children, and will be able to respond appropriately to any incidents of challenging behaviour. You will need to be somewhat resilient, as this role can be pretty challenging at times. But you will have the support of an understanding, friendly and approachable manager, and a supportive staff team.
You'll be paid £10 per hour and you'll accrue holiday on top too.
