About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Leeds, supporting young people and adults with learning disabilities to achieve their educational and personal development goals.
You will work closely with tutors, support staff and families to provide tailored, person-centred support that enables learners to participate fully in lessons, develop independence, and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with learning disabilities
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Support communication, social skills and emotional regulation
Assist with personal care where required
Promote inclusion, independence and positive behaviour
Contribute to learner progress reviews and support plans
Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements
About You
Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities (education, care or community setting)
Patient, empathetic and positive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build trusting relationships with learners
Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills
Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Health & Social Care, or equivalent) desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
