  • Temporary contract until end of March, possibility for extension
  • Pay: £11.72- £14.09 after 12 weeks.

Role Overview:

This is a fast-paced and interesting role, involving claims for compensation made against the Board. The role requires individuals to work effectively within established protocols, Parole Board procedures, and in line with Parole Board Litigation Strategy and the relevant law. The post holder will work within the organisation and with external law firms to ensure this process delivers value for money and is fully compliant with the law. Responsibilities will include:

Alongside other Case Managers, with the support of the Team Leader, you will be responsible for responding to pre action claims for compensation, defending claims where appropriate, and negotiating settlement where appropriate in line with the relevant policies and procedures. You may also need to assist with some of the other work carried out by the Team.

You will be assigned pre action compensation claims by the Team Leader. You will then undertake an analysis of those claims, decide upon a response (using template text as a basis for your response where appropriate), and then continue to correspond with internal and external parties until the claim has been resolved. You will have great attention to detail and need to be able to analyse claims, identify relevant facts, and apply them to the criteria identified by the Team's policy to identify the relevant outcome.

It will be imperative that you are able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, internally and externally, at varying grades and levels of seniority, with competing demands for how this process functions and produces.

Experience required for the post:

  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Experience in using Microsoft programmes
  • Adaptable to change
  • Ability to follow processes, policies and guidelines
  • Be detail-focused and accurate
  • Accurate email communication and data entry skills (e.g., in Excel)
  • Experience in relaying complex information in a simple, digestible format at all levels - i.e., for stakeholders or service users to be able to easily understand a DBS check will be conducted for this position
