At Preston site, UK, the company prints labels - sold to users of its printers - as well as an array of products such as wristbands and tags. It supplies the EMEA region with Certified Labels and is supported by further label printing at its site in the Netherlands. The business continues to grow quickly, and we need to recruit additional staff to produce more complex products on our fleet of Flexo presses.

REPORTS TO: Senior Manufacturing Manager

DEPARTMENT: Preston Label Manufacturing Department

LOCATION: Preston, Lancashire

HOURS: Monday to Thursday 9.45pm till 6.30am, then Friday evening 7.15pm till 11.15pm

Salary: 18k-25k plus 30% shift allowance


Sets up, operates and dismantles a variety of up to date flexographic color label printing presses between 1 - 8 colours (including two Nilpeter FA-4* presses).



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-To operate flexographic label printing presses to produce rolls of self-adhesive labels, wristbands, tickets & tags

-Carrying out Packing in-line operations following detailed instructions

-Have an understanding of the functions and mechanical workings of all machines

-Performs appropriate functional quality tests for operations performed on all equipment

-General computer skills and numerical skills

-Ability to work to high quality standards and meet productivity targets/deadlines adhering to all H&S procedures at all times

-Ability to use initiative with excellent problem-solving skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

-1 - 3 years of printing related experience

-Narrow web flexographic label printing experience would be a distinct advantage for this position

-Ink-mixing and colour matching experience would be an advantage
